Happy Birthday Emma!

I can't believe it's been two years since her birth. I remember it like it was yesterday. That beautiful red hair and those big blue eyes looking up at me. The first night in the hospital I remember not even caring when they woke me up to feed her. I was so excited to have a baby girl ~ count her fingers and toes, and smell her after her first bath. (I better stop this or I am going to talk myself into another baby really quick!)

Anyway - Family and a few neighborhood friends made a perfect backyard flower / butterfly party. The kids planted their flowers in their flower pots, got butterfly tattoos, and blew bubbles. The weather was absolutely perfect too.

At the age of two it seems Emma can pretty much express verbally anything she needs to. She is speaking in complete sentences. She loves to color and paint. (unlike her brother ever did at her age.) She loves to sing Elmo's World and Jesus Loves Me... and can sing her ABC's too! Emma also loves to pretend play with her baby dolls and play kitchen. Oh - and ride Jacob's Incredibles scooter that is probably for ages 4 and up. She is very coordinated and can run very fast. I think she needs to be enrolled in gymnastics!

She also has a bit of an attitude...well maybe more than just a bit. She gets time-out quite often now. She actually got time out sometime after her party and 3 pounds of sugar... I made her sit in the chair and she gave me a dirty look. Then...she says "hmphh"... Hides her face and looks at me again and says "hmphh." Meanwhile... Mimi, Papa, Caki, Aunt Becca and myself are trying not to laugh. I don't think Daddy will put up with too much of that attitude...not for long anyway. I can't wait for the teenage years. I may be getting paybacks. :)

Emma also has a very sweet side. She loves to hug her brother and cuddle with Mommy and Daddy. We love you Emma Grace. Happy Birthday!
